Privacy Policy

Trekvana is designed to be private by default. No accounts, no ads, no data selling. Here's exactly what happens with the small amount of information the app touches.

No accounts

Trekvana does not require you to sign up or sign in. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other identifier tied to who you are.

Trip inputs and itinerary generation

When you create a trip, the inputs you provide — destination, dates, traveler info, budget, and preferences — are sent to OpenAI's API so it can generate your itinerary. Under our agreement with OpenAI, these inputs are not used to train their models. OpenAI processes the request and returns the itinerary.

What we store on our backend

Our backend (Supabase) stores only three things, none of which identify you:

• Shared trip payloads. When you explicitly tap Share on a trip, we upload the itinerary so anyone with the link can view it. Shared trips are automatically deleted after 30 days.
• Venue-verification cache. An anonymous cache of venues we've looked up (name, coordinates, map ID) so the app can confirm places exist without re-querying providers on every trip. No user identifier is attached.
• Anonymous analytics events. Counts of paywall views and affiliate-link taps so we understand what's useful. No account ID, no device ID, no personal information.

Subscriptions and payments

Trekvana Premium is sold through Apple In-App Purchase. Apple handles the entire transaction — payment method, billing, receipts, and refunds. We never see or store your payment details. See Apple's privacy policy for how Apple handles that data.

Data on your device

Your trips, packing lists, and app settings live on your device. They are not synced to our servers unless you explicitly share a trip.

Location

Trekvana uses the destination you type in — it does not track your location in the background and does not request always-on location access.

Third-party links

The app may show links to third-party services including Viator, Stay22, and Amazon. Once you tap a link and leave Trekvana, that service's own privacy policy applies. We do not share any personal information with them (we don't have any to share).

No ads. No data selling.

Trekvana does not show advertising and does not sell, rent, or trade any data to advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else.

Children

Trekvana is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app.
